Welcome to The Alexandra WI!

Welcome to The Alexandra WI, the Women’s Institute for Muswell Hill and Crouch End, North London. We started out in 2010 and we have members from their 30s to their 70s – we’re a diverse group and all women are very welcome!

We usually meet 8-10pm on the first Tuesday of the month at CUFOS, end of The Avenue, London N10 2QE. It’s the old Alexandra Palace railway station building, just behind Ally Pally.

Next meeting 7pm Tuesday 3 November 2020 is online!

Join a Blue Badge Guide to tour London’ best street art!
In our virtual tour on street art we will gain a better understanding of this phenomenon through works, big and small, made by international street artists in Brick Lane and the surrounding areas. We will appreciate the impressive diversity of styles and techniques of this art form, as well as the powerful messages that emanate from it. We will also learn how street art developed in this multi-ethnic part of town, and speculate on where it is heading.

Due to the ongoing coronavirus situation, WIs are currently unable to meet. It’s a difficult time for an organisation whose very purpose is to bring women together. We’re using the time to find innovative ways to keep communicating and sharing information and ideas, whether via chat groups, video meetings or good old fashioned phone calls. We’re definitely still here: the WI is strong!

We send best wishes to our followers and friends at this challenging time and hope to see you again at our meetings and events soon.

Please scroll down and read about our past meetings and do check the calendar for future programmes, which will resume as soon as we are safely able to do so.
